Dougie's Goal Drought

Starting to see some hand wringing on the message boards. Dougie Weight is playing his ass off. It's gonna come. He's hitting guys and playmaking. He's also spending a lot of time grinding with the puck behind the net. Hard to score from back there. Sweeeeeet pass to Whitney from the end boards in the third.

Lack of hustle, broken plays and breakaways cost us tonight. Revenge awaits on the morrow.

Got to hand it to the Kittys. They play hard every night. I would have hated to see Ollie Jokinen go to an Eastern contender.

Still worried about the blueline.

Two nights in a row, Dougie has been one of the top two guys on the ice. I'd say tonight Justin Williams was the best thing we had, but Dougie looked really good. The recchin' ball looked good, too. Two assists for Dougie tonight. The goals will start coming really soon.

As far as the blueline goes, I think we need to get Babs back up here. I really like the way he plays. Who knows what'll happen with Jack Johnson.

And by the way, what the hell was up with Nathan Horton?

The people who are pissin' and bitchin' about Dougie on ch.com are frickin' idjits. These are the same mouthbreathers that send semiliterate "u suk" nastygrammes to Luke DeCock because he refuses to be a blind "rah-rah" homer for the team, and who don't know shit about hockey in the first place--so I wouldn't waste any more time on them, because ch.com is a dumping ground for the dregs of the fanbase anyway (except for maybe three or four posters, who I'm trying to get to migrate to the scout.com 'Canes board).

Dougie will come around--he's starting to come around, the guys are starting to come around, it'll happen. You know it, I know it, so don't worry about it.

Dougie got number one tonight - But Staal gave up the slot and the game winner in OT.

Isn't it supposed to be fun to watch hockey? The last two nights have been miserable. Got to hand it to Florida. They are relentless.
